Plan your pickup and your first stop
Motorhome hire in Nelson. Nelson.
A motorhome collected in the city needs a depot you can reach without relying on a centre-street park, then a first pitch that accepts the vehicle’s size.
Count belted travel seats separately from berths and check how the bed is made up before you treat a motorhome as ready for the group.
Compare included mileage, deposit, insurance excess, equipment and return time for the selected motorhome. The partner website confirms availability and the conditions that apply to the booking.
Leave margin for the handover, shopping and a first overnight stop that actually accepts the vehicle’s size. A scenic name on a map is not a confirmed pitch.
Nelson is a compact, sunny city at the top of the South Island, and a campervan collected here is for Tasman and the northwest. Abel Tasman is reached from Marahau or Kaiteriteri; on most visits the van stays at a holiday park while you take a boat or walk.
Book the Abel Tasman boat, if you want one, and the holiday park separately.
Book the Abel Tasman boat, if you want one, and the holiday park separately. The van will not be going to the beaches that have no road.
Give the Tākaka Hill respect, especially if the vehicle is long or the weather is wet. It is not a motorway dip.
If you are connecting to the ferry, check the Picton check-in time before you linger in Nelson. Drive on the left, and keep night one simple.
