The handover is at the airport. It is not a collection in the Albayzín, whose lanes are steep, partly pedestrian, and a classic place for a motorhome to get stuck in a photograph. From the plain you can leave toward the Sierra Nevada’s approaches, the Alpujarras valleys on the south side of the range, or the quieter roads of the vega itself.

The high road across the ski area is seasonal and weather-led. A summer booking does not open it in a storm, and a winter landing does not make it a casual exit from the airfield. Take a first night on the plain or low in a valley, and save the white villages for a morning when you already know the van’s width.
