Hiring a campervan in Girona

Girona’s old quarter climbs away from the Onyar, a cathedral above a Jewish call and a row of houses that every photograph frames from the bridges.

Those bridges and lanes are walking ground. The campervan uses the Empordà beyond: cork and olive country, the Dalí triangle of Figueres and the inland museums, and the Costa Brava only up to the point where the road still forgives a long vehicle. Tossa, Calella de Palafrugell and Cadaqués are the famous endings that often are not.

The airport at Girona is a well-known arrival for flights and a different page from this city. Here, sleep on the plain or in a vineyard pitch, walk the call in the morning, and choose one coast village as a passenger trip rather than a chain of motorhome arrivals.

A few things worth knowing

  1. 01

Do not enter the call or the cathedral quarter in the van. The Onyar bank is a photograph, not a lane.

  2. 02

Check access before any Costa Brava “just to look”. Several endings restrict through-traffic or simply have nowhere to turn a vehicle of your length.

  3. 03

Summer heat inland and sea breeze on the cape can differ by a layer of clothing. The van, meanwhile, needs shade on the plain by early afternoon.
