A country page is an overview. Match the campervan to the first region you will actually drive, then confirm that depot rather than a capital-city assumption.

Count belted travel seats separately from berths and check how the bed is made up before you treat a campervan as ready for the group.

Compare included mileage, deposit, insurance excess, equipment and return time for the selected campervan. The partner website confirms availability and the conditions that apply to the booking.

Leave margin for the handover, shopping and a first overnight stop that actually accepts the vehicle’s size. A scenic name on a map is not a confirmed pitch.

Germany is a through-country for a campervan: the North Sea and Baltic at one end, the Alps at the other, and a dense net of autobahns in between. There is no national vignette for a private van.

A few things worth knowing

01
Buy the green disc before you enter any Umweltzone you already know is on the route, and do not assume every large city has one. Hamburg, for example, is not in that system.
02
If the van is heavy and was built or registered as a goods vehicle, confirm whether the German truck toll touches it. Ordinary private motorhomes are not asked for an autobahn vignette.
03
Sort the first and last nights before the handover day. Sunday mornings in villages are quiet, Sunday evenings near lakes are not, and a border crossing into Switzerland or Austria is the wrong moment to discover the vignette.
