Plan your pickup and your first stop
Paris Airport, in the sense of the capital’s main airfield, is Charles de Gaulle at Roissy, northeast of the city in the Val-d’Oise.
The handover happens there, far outside the boulevards. It is not a collection in a Paris neighbourhood, and the first drive should not aim at the périphérique to prove you have arrived. Senlis, the Champagne plain, or the A1 toward Picardy are the natural exits.
Orly, on the southern side, is a different airfield and a different start. From Roissy you are already pointed at Reims, the Oise, or a wide loop that meets the Loire only after a night outside the capital. Take that geography as a gift. The low-emission zone inside Paris is optional, and a newly collected motorhome is a bad reason to make it compulsory.
Schedule the first night northeast or east of Roissy, within a short, simple drive. A Loire château before dark is too far for an unfamiliar vehicle.
Set the route so the navigation never offers the centre as a shortcut. Refuse that shortcut even if the screen prefers it.
On departure morning, sleep on the same side of the city as the airfield. Crossing Paris to catch a flight is the failure this handover lets you avoid.
Your next adventure is a few clicks away.
