Exmouth is a small town on the North West Cape, built beside a naval base and aimed at Ningaloo Reef and Cape Range National Park.

Collecting a campervan here only makes sense if that cape is the trip. The reef itself, including whale sharks in season, is a boat day; the van is for the yardie gorges, the beaches and the long coastal road. South, Carnarvon is the next real service town, and Perth is a drive you measure in days, not in a long afternoon.

Shops, fuel and workshops are limited. Wind and heat are ordinary. A handover in Exmouth is the town collection point, not a desk at every bay along the cape.
