ROOM FOR YOUR KIND OF TRIP
Think about who is coming and how you like to travel. Check sleeping spaces, travel seats, kitchen equipment and luggage storage when choosing your campervan.
Plan your pickup and your first stop
Athens is the city handover, so the van meets you among hills, one-way streets, and the long ring that actually wants a motorhome.
The Acropolis ridge is a view, not a driving destination. Plan to roll out toward the Attica coast, the Peloponnese, or the north, and leave the historic centre for a walk once the vehicle is parked somewhere that can take its length.
Greek islands do not connect to Athens by road. Piraeus and the other Attica ports load vehicles on a timetable that has nothing to do with a hotel checkout. Crete is an overnight sailing on many routes; smaller Cycladic islands can be a poor match for a tall van even when a ship will take it. If the week is only mainland, skip the port. If an island is the goal, the ferry is a second reservation, with its own height rules.
Book the ferry lane for the vehicle if any night of this trip is on an island, and read the ship's height limit before you treat the sailing as settled.
Use the Athens ring road when the route leaves for Delphi, Nafplio, or the north, and do not send a motorhome up the narrow streets under the Acropolis.
Fuel type, mileage terms, and the insurance excess are written on the operator's booking. This guide does not assign you a van.
