Porto is the city collection on the steep banks of the Douro, with a granite centre, a famous bridge, and a riverside that looks romantic and drives badly in a motorhome.
Park above the hardest slopes and walk down. The trips that suit the van are the valley eastward, the Atlantic coast, and the smaller towns farther north if the week reaches them. Those roads roll and sometimes narrow, but they are not the same problem as the riverfront itself.
Lisbon's hills and the Algarve coast are different Portuguese landscapes, both well south of here. Porto does not need them to fill a week. It needs respect for its own grades. Porto Airport sits outside the river city and is the flight handover, not this desk.
