Plan your pickup and your first stop
Port Elizabeth Airport (PLZ) serves Gqeberha, and on this map the collection point is the airport itself.
It sits close enough to the city that the urban area is a short drive, and close enough to the N2 that the real decision is the highway. West runs toward Jeffreys Bay and then the Garden Route towns, Knysna and George, a coastal journey of more than one day if you mean to enjoy it. North is Addo Elephant National Park, the classic nearby wildlife day. East, toward the Wild Coast and eventually Durban, is the longer commitment.
Driving is on the left. There is no separate city page here; do not assume a downtown depot is the same thing. Coastal wind is ordinary. Not every township or beach village is a handover.
Choose Addo or the westward N2 before you leave the airport, and put night one in that direction. Trying to do the elephants and reach Knysna after a flight is too much road.
Book Addo and any park camps separately if you need them. A handover at PLZ is not a park permit.
Drive on the left, expect wind, and use a booked caravan park. Keep the van locked and uninteresting at roadside stops.
Your next adventure is a few clicks away.
