Plan your pickup and your first stop
Gdansk is the city collection in the Tri-city of the Polish Baltic, with a rebuilt waterfront, a dense old town, and shipyard history you should see on foot.
A campervan has no business in the narrow tourist lanes. The driving day is the coast: beaches and low shore to the west, or the urban run through Sopot and Gdynia if you accept city traffic. Collecting here means the first task is leaving the centre cleanly.
Gdansk Airport is a separate named place. It does not sit in the old town, and a booking for the city will not be waiting on the airport curb. The city start fits when you are already in Gdansk by train, or when the port is the opening scene. It is the wrong start when you land and hoped to skip the centre on the way to the dunes.
Park outside the old town and walk the waterfront. Do not hunt for a pause on the main tourist lane.
If the flight uses the airport, switch the collection name to Gdansk Airport instead of driving into the city only to meet a curb you have already passed.
